It’s About Him and His Glory

“All glory goes to God, man.

When asked how he was able to lead his team back from a deficit in a high pre-sure situation, Texans’ QB C.J. Stroud gave credit to God. The No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft gave further credit to his faith in the postgame press conference (after their victory of the Bengals)..
“All glory and praise goes to my lord and savior Jesus Christ. All glory goes to God, man.
Later Stroud summarized:
“I don’t deserve his grace and his mercy, but he still gives it to me and I love him for that, because it’s not about me, it’s about him and his glory. So I think that’s where it came from, God made me like that, I’ve been through a lot, not only in football, but things that made me just kind of chill when everything is goin crazy. So I think God for putting in that on me, because that’s something you need playing this position in this league.”
The point is not that God and Jesus are Texans fans. It’s that whatever good we are able to do, God gets the glory. Stroud, refers to himself “follower of Christ” in all of his social media bios, stating that he sees his football career as an opportunity to “spread the gospel.”
